The Art of Living Foundation has just celebrated its one year anniversary in Bangkok, Thailand.  The resident teacher, Jeremy Occhipinti, moved here from America last year and since then there have been weekly Sudarshan Kriya follow-ups and regular Part One Courses being conducted.  Roy Tan, originally from Singapore, has been instrumental as the coordinator to initiate all of the events, follow-ups, Satsangs, special courses and various activities that made everything possible here over the past year.  Roy has recently relocated to Bali and Durga Mouli has taken his place here.

Courses

To start 2006 off, we had two Part One Courses in January, the first one was in Bangkok and the other, which was our first Corporate Course, was conducted in Reyong, two hours south of Bangkok.

On February 9th, 2006, we had our first Youth Empowerment Seminar - YES! Course.   Teenagers from two different schools came together to join in the amazing course.  There have been consistent Sudarshan Kriya follow-ups for the teenagers since then.

On February 12th, 2006, a group of fifteen members from Bangkok traveled to Bangalore, India for the Silver Jubilee Celebrations, joining 2.5 millions others from around the world to celebrate the Art of Living's 25th Anniversary.  This was a very special time for the group which also set in motion an inspiring energy that would propel the Bangkok chapter to bigger and better things in the near future.

Prison Smart

From April to May, 2006, we held our first Prison Smart Courses in Bangkok’s notorious Bangkwang Central Prison.  Atika Dhandhia and Pankaj Gupta came from India to teach the courses there, which were assisted by Bruce Gordon.  These courses were very powerful and successful; all the participants’ experiences were very encouraging.

Also in May, we held our first Part One Course in Pattaya, a popular beach city south of Bangkok.  Pankaj Gupta and Bruce Gordon traveled to Pattaya to teach this course to diverse members of the local community.

Advance Course

The following month, in June, we had our first Part Two Course in Bangkok.  Iti, a Part Two Course teacher from India came to conduct the course which had 11 participants.  For most of the participants, this was their first Part Two Course.  We look forward to hosting a Part Two Course at least twice a year in the future.

On September 3rd, 2006, we officially opened our first Art of Living Center in Bangkok , Thailand.  The first Part One Course was held there September 7th with 12 participants.

For the remainder of the year, we have several Part One and YES! Courses planned as well as some end of the year Satsangs and Celebrations.
