 Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Arabic: المملكة العربية السعودية) is the largest country on the Arabian Peninsula. It borders Jordan on the northwest, Iraq on the north and northeast, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates on the east, Oman on the southeast, and Yemen on the south, with the Persian Gulf to its northeast and the Red Sea to its west. It is called "the land of the two holy mosques", a reference to Mecca and Medina, Islam's two holiest places.
The Art of Living Saudi Arabia activities were started in November 2002 when Prince Majed had invited Christopher Glaser from German Centre to conduct the Basic course for the Royal family members in the Palace in the Western City of Jeddah. Prince Majed was associated with AOL when he used to visit Europe. There was a the first Basic course conducted ever in Saudi Arabia by Christopher in the same time for the General Public, mainly Indian expatriates. Following that there were four Basic courses conducted in Al Khobar Eastern City, during January and February 2003 by visiting Teacher Balasubramaniyam from Oman.
Now Regular Courses are being conducted in Jeddah, Riyadh, Al Khobar, Dammam, Dhahran & Jubail.
The estimated number of people those who have taken up AOL courses exceeds 2000 now in the Kingdom.
Many Saudi Arabian citizens, Western nationals and Asians are among the participants.
Regular APEX, Part2, DSN, Artexcel, Yes courses are conducted in Al Khobar, Riyadh & Jeddah Cities.
Courses are also conducted in ARAMCO the biggest Oil Company complex in the eastern Province.
Many Service projects also have been taken up by AOL volunteers in the Kingdom.
