Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country in transition, faced with the rapid invasion of consumer lifestyle, is losing basic human values, used to be bred in the "old-fashioned" family methods of education. Adults are forced to struggling for the sustenance of families, and they are under stress. That is transmitting to children. Children are, increasingly, showing signs of anxiety, fear, psychosomatic disorders and aggressive behavior.
To prevent these conditions to go bad to worse, the Art of Living in BiH Tuzla Canton started a project "Program for the prevention of addiction and violence - workshop for children of primary school." The organizers offered the Program to the Tuzla Community Foundation which provided funds for Art excel and YES! Course. Another YES! Course was funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sport.
The success of the initial courses amongst the children was a bench mark for the project. It led to the approval of regular with NAP (Non Aggression program) in schools, from the Ministry of Education. In the academic year 2009-2010, NAP’s were conducted in two schools. 110 children were a part of the program. It continued in 2010-2011 with 150 children attending the program. Children accepted program with enthusiasm and the teachers appreciated the initiative.
