‘Ekmatra’ is a school for poor children and orphans in Mirpur run by a Japanese youngster, Hiroki and his friends.Recently, they participated in an Art of Living Training program.19 smiling faces emerged from program, some were orphans, some were children of sex workers and some belonged to the underprivileged society.
A similar workshop was conducted for the children of the Maer Achor Shelter, Mirpur.It is a shelter for street children and orphans.About 72 such children took part in The Art of Living Balchetna/Navchetna workshop.The Director of the shelter,Mr. Kakkoli initiated and organized it with great enthusiasm.The workshop ended with much cheer and a dance sequence performed by the participants.
The Art of Living organizes free camps called Balchetna for children and Navchetna workshops for others.They are designed to inculcate self-esteem and confidence in these groups.
