An Indian spiritual guru famous for his humanitarian and peace making efforts, praises the development of Sri Lanka. Founder of the "Art of Living" movement and peace ambassador Sri-Sri Ravi Shankar guruji, is on a short visit to the island. The guruji will participate in the Kumbabisheka ceremony of SeethaTemple at Nuwara-Eliya tomorrow after meeting President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe.
Speaking at a media briefing held today at Colombo the spiritual leader said that he is happy to see the infrastructure development. He said that people seems to be living a relieved life due to prevalence of the peace in the country.
Sri-Sri Ravi Shankar's facilitation in bringing Columbian government and Farc rebels to the negotiation table is often praised by peace activists. He also tried to persuade LTTE movement to renounce arms and enter in to dialogue with Sri Lankan government during the period of conflict.
