JAMMU, May 13: Sixtieth Birthday of His Holiness Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a renowned spiritual Guru and the founder of International Art of Living Foundation, was celebrated with gaiety and fervour all over the country today.
The Art of Living - Jammu organised several programmes, in tune with the organisation ideology of Sadhna, Seva and Satsang, to commemorate the occasion. A mesmerising concert of divine music was organised in the evening at Abhinav Theatre, which was attended by a very large number of people from all walks of life & assisted by Nirvana
Besides, a small meditation session, it included a performance by Nitin Davar, a renowned singer, who kept the gathering enchanted with his rendition of blissful bhajans. The devotees were exhilarated experiencing divine energy generated in the satsang
Earlier, Sudershan Kriya- a rthymic breathing exercise evolved by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, was organised at all five happiness centres of AOL in the Jammu city, which was attended by a very large number of followers of the revered Guru. The volunteers of Art of Living also put up a chabeel and organised a langar at Indira Chowk and Sanjay Nagar.
Volunteers of AOL also visited SOS Home and Old Age Home and distributed food and sweets to the inmates. The volunteers of Udhampur Distt. distributed 80 umbrellas to the students of Bal Ashram Udhampur as part of Sewa Activity.
Similar events were also organised at Kathua, Bani & Udhampur to mark the birth celebrations of the revered guru. A musical evening was also organised at Kathua were Sh. Mihir Ji rendered blissful bhajans in the glory of the Almighty. The same singer will also be perfoming in Udhampur on 14th May.
