The Art of Living Foundation, an international non-profit that offers stress reduction, meditation and self-development programs is offering 3 weeks of free Sri Sri Yoga for September, National Yoga Month. Sri Sri Yoga comes directly from the principles of the Patanjali Yogasutras from ancient India and integrates the pure aspects of Asanas (postures), Pranayama (breathing techniques), Knowledge (sutras) and Ayurveda (ancient Indian medicine) into a simple take-home practice.
The free workshops will be held all over the Bay Area (Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Fremont, Milpitas, San Jose) and will be followed by a 4-day Sri Sri Yoga course to be held from September 19-22 at San Jose Airport Garden Hotel, 1740, North First Street, San Jose, CA. Participants will get a take-home practice that they can do at their convenience and will get free follow-ups so they can continue to enjoy the benefits of the course.
Numerous research studies have demonstrated the health benefits of yoga and meditation. This discipline reduces stress, increases focus, concentration and energy and creates more harmonious relationships at work and home.
National Yoga Month was started in 2008 as "an awareness campaign to educate about the health benefits of yoga and to inspire a healthy lifestyle." September has been designated as a national observance by the Department of Health and Human Services.
“Due to recent economic and natural disasters, Americans are suffering from increased stress and angst. Sri Sri Yoga uses innovative techniques to release these accumulated stresses and heals various chronic illnesses like high/ low blood pressure, chronic body pain, diabetes, depression, and insomnia in a natural and simple way. We want to give people tools to live a more contended and happy life.” Said Sangeeta Jani, a leader in the field of personal development who has taught over 100,000 people in her 21-year career and who will be in the Bay Area specially to teach this workshop as part of her U.S. tour.
