(Below is a continuation of the post A Guru Is Definitely Needed)
Just come to the Ashram once and see for yourself how even dead people (here meaning those steeped in negativity and inertia) come alive with joy! Come and see how one can experience heaven right here. Here you will find that which you have been searching for your whole life so easily and comfortably, right in your very lap! So come and experience this magic at least once. Once you experience true knowledge you will realize how truly beautiful life is.
Do not blame the world or curse the people around you. They are all a part of God’s wonderful creation. Everything here has a purpose, and everything here is to make you stronger – be it friends or enemies. There are flower spreads, and there are thorns as well – both to make you blossom from deep within. Focus on yourself and your own experience; do not get caught in meaningless random talks of others. Then your experience will feel true and deep.
Open your eyes and see – there are only good people everywhere. Even the few wicked ones that you see around you are actually good-natured at heart. They are not really wicked, they are just unfortunate and their luck is not yet in their favour – which is why they resort to wrong deeds. If you see from my eyes, you will only see that this world is full of goodness, and everyone and everything in the world belongs to us.
Okay, just remind yourself that you will have to spend Rs. 20,000 every time you speak bad words. For every bad word you use, you are going to lose Rs. 20,000. If you think that Rs. 20,000 is a small amount, you can raise the penalty to Rs. 1 Lakh.
Just imagine you were going to get Rs. 1 lakh from somewhere, and just by using one bad word, you will have to lose it all. So remind yourself that you are losing out on your good luck by speaking harsh words and abuses.
Also, listening to someone’s abuses and harsh words increases your good fortune (laughter). There is a saying in Sanskrit, “Dadatu dadatu gaali; gaali manto bhavantu”. How many of you have heard this saying?
There are three meanings associated with the word ‘gaali’. One is harsh or abusive words. The second meaning is wealth, and the third meaning is a cycle.
So this saying means, “May the one who speaks abuses become wealthy and prosperous”. So when you listen to someone’s abuses, then your negative karma drops off and gets nullified. You should understand it this way. And when negative karma dissolves, all kinds of wealth and prosperity follows.
This is simply because you do not have much interest in Maths. That is why this happens. Also, one does feel a bit sleepy immediately after meals. So, to become sharper at Maths, you must sit and solve more math problems. When you sit to solve problems using a pen and paper, then you will not feel sleepy. If you sit to read something then it is possible to feel sleepy, or when you are listening to something. When you are working on something then you will not feel sleepy.
Also, develop a habit of studying such subjects when your mind is fresh, like in the mornings. See, children are of two types, according to study habits.
1. Those who wakeup early in the morning to study
2. Those who stay up late in the night to finish studies
So first you must decide what your type of study habit is. Even those who have a habit of studying in the night should not stay up later than 1 AM or 2 AM. I know this because I too used to like studying at night time. So this depends on our type. Some people like to study in the early morning when it is fresh and bright outside.
You should also pay careful attention to your food. If you have a stuffed Parantha (a type of Indian bread) and a glassful of Lassi (a thick yogurt-based drink), then you are sure to feel sleepy. So you should keep your food light and nutritious. Have more of raw vegetables and salads. Reduce the quantity of food grains, cereals, and sweets. This also helps increase your alertness.
When you meditate, you get access to a deep inner space from where we download everything.
Listen, I am not going to take any test or award any marks to the government. Whoever wishes to judge and give marks for the government’s performance; let them do so. What is more important? We have to see that everyone is contributing in the country’s progress. What can one person or one government achieve by itself alone? Until and unless the people of the country also awaken and become aware, nothing can be achieved. We all have to join hands for this cause – to awaken the people of this country. We have to promote and spread spiritual values to every home in the country. We have to spread this knowledge of how one can handle one’s life and make it more fulfilling. Only then will the country improve and progress forward. It is not that it is not improving currently. No, definitely there is a lot of improvement already taking place in many aspects. So we cannot tie down and measure progress over a restricted period of time. It is a long and continuous process.
