The floods in Kerala and Karnataka have left behind a trail of devastation in their wake. Massive disaster relief efforts are underway with the Art of Living volunteers reaching out to 50,000+ victims and providing them with aid and basic necessities.

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has also sent out a message of hope and offered full support to the Kerala Chief Minister. “In these challenging times, let us all be brave and keep our strength and faith intact. Hold on to the faith that everything is going to be back to normal and everyone will overcome the fury of these floods. Lots of volunteers are doing plenty of service in the state. Let us all get together and serve more people. The situation is going to improve very soon. My love and blessings are there with you all,” said Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in a video message to the people of Kerala.

Gurudev has also assured the Kerala CM, Pinarayi Vijayan, of full support from The Art of Living, via a phone call, early Friday morning.

Even as the death toll continues to rise in Kerala, volunteers have stepped up their flood relief efforts and have reached out to over 50,000 people in all 14 flood-affected districts. Volunteers have been working to shift people from affected areas to safer regions and providing them with food, water, clothes and other basic necessities.

More than 20 truckloads of relief material including food, water, clothes, sleeping mats, blankets, bed sheets, diapers, milk powder, mosquito repellent, etc. have been distributed by Art of Living volunteers, and plan to reach out to more people. A collection point is being set up at The Art of Living International Center in Bengaluru, for those who wish to help send relief material.
