Thousands of people meditated in almost every city of America, with the intention of contributing to the world’ s welfare and peace. This is the second time that such a meditation event has been organized. The first edition of America Meditates witnessed over 20,000 people all around the continent. In Buenos Aires alone, 4,000 people meditated together.
Effects of Meditation
Meditation has many positive effects on health, reduces stress, provides deep rest, calmness, peace of mind, joy, vibrant health, greater energy and positive relationships. Twenty minutes of deep meditation are equivalent to three hours of sleep. During meditation, one is in the space of vastness, calmness, and love and this state of mind gets transferred to the people around. A publication in the British Medical Journal shows the state of mind is contagious to other people around. Bringing harmony within oneself influences your family members and even your neighbors. A person who meditates tend to have a more peaceful state of mind that, in turn, would affect other people around. The change for world peace first starts with oneself.
