Bangalore: The Art of Living’s prominent state-of-the-art centers of learning, Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research and Sri Sri School of Yoga have been nationally recognized for their standards of excellence in keeping with the philosophy of The Art of Living.

Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research has been acknowledged as this year’s Best Ayurveda College jointly by the Newspaper Association of Karnataka and the National Council for The Papers Association of India as part of National Education Excellence Awards 2016. The award recognizes institutions, educationists and researchers for their contributions to excellence in their given academic fields.

Instituted in 2004, the college was started with the objective of boosting research and awareness for the 5000-year-old Ayurvedic Sciences and to blend modern research with traditional medicine.

‘With growing demand for Ayurveda, we needed good doctors. We needed doctors with commitment, compassion and high standards,’ says Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Even The Art of Living’s Sri Sri School of Yoga has been officially certified as a Yoga School under Ministry of AYUSH’s voluntary certification schemes of yoga schools.

“We are delighted that Art of Living has chosen to go for Yoga school certification under the Ministry of AYUSH-QCI voluntary scheme – we would like to take the leadership in certifying authentic yoga worldwide and for such a famous school to come into our fold is both a recognition of the value of the certification as well as contribution to our goal of securing leadership,” said Dr. R. P. Singh, Secretary General, Quality Council of India (QCI).

Sri Sri School of Yoga is the first Yoga School to be certified as a Level 1 Yoga School under the QCI Certification Scheme by TQ Cert Services, earlier called the FoodCert Private Limited. SSSY was certified by the third party auditing agency after the extensive audit of the infrastructure facilities, processes and trainers before recommending the school for the certification.

“TQ Cert appreciates the hard work put in by The Sri Sri School of Yoga Collectively to achieve this feat,” said Sampat Suri, Head Certification Business of TQCert.

Sampat Suri from TQ Cert and S Krishnamurthy representing the Quality Council of India (QCI) presented the certificate to Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Founder of The Art of Living International Center at Bangalore Ashram on the occasion of Vijayadashami celebration.

Sri Sri School of Yoga offers teacher training and supports teachers in conducting yoga programs. The academic wing specializes in training yoga professionals through a series of training programs aimed at various levels of skill and proficiency, starting with generic yoga programs to specialized programs like yoga for children, yoga for corporates, yoga for pre and postnatal care and much more.
