333 Bagpipers in Bulgaria
A Guinness Record with 333 Bagpipes In Bulgaria By The Art Of Living
333 bagpipers from all over Bulgaria were gathered by the Art of Living on May 16th in the National Palace of Culture. The event was attended by 4000 people and was shown on major TV channels. The 333 bagpipers performed a 9-minute long composition of eight most popular Bulgarian folk songs. During the event which was organized in honor of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s visit to Bulgaria, the founder of The Art of Living emphasized on the need to make the world a one world family.
Among the VIP guests were members of the Bulgarian parliament, ambassadors, representatives of different ministries and media. Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was awarded by the very prominent and well-known foundation "Humanness" with an honorable plaque for his extraordinary humane work in removing the consequences of conflicts, aggression and disaster around the world and for his efforts and achievements in the name of a better world.
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar also awarded four distinguished Bulgarians with the Human Values award:
- Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO.
- Yordanka Fandakova, Mayor of Sofia.
- Daniela Kaneva, prominent journalist from Bulgarian national television.
- Joana Tomova, owner of publishing companies Prosveta and Prozoretz as publisher of Yoga Vasistha in Bulgarian.
