Baabda Prison for women is located in the city of Baabda. Two courses have taken place in this prison with around 40 participants. One of the inmates shares, “This course gave me back the taste of freedom and hope that I had lost here being in the prison.”
There are follow-up sessions for the inmates once a week. A typical follow up includes about 30 minutes of asanas (yoga postures) followed by Pranayama, Bastrika and long Sudarshan Kriya. Since March 2008, courses and follow-ups are taking place in Baabda's prison. Some of the inmates felt so much relief that they hoped the course would continue forever.
“The inmates benefited greatly from the breathing techniques. Their confidence and self esteem has improved, making them less subject to daily stress inherent in the prison.” - Hoda Kara, Director, Dar Al Amal To read this complete recommendation letter, click here
