Chandigarh, May 26
It was a big moment for inmates as a four-day workshop on youth empowerment and skill development started at the Juvenile Home in Sector 25 here today.
The workshop named YES! (Youth empowerment and skills) is being organised by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in collaboration with the Art of Living, an organisation, to transform marginalised youth.
DLSA secretary Amarinder Sharma said the programme would see rejuvenating processes and activities to inculcate moral values into the attendees. The major stress would be on ‘Sudarshan Kriya’, a yogic and breathing technique.
Punjab and Chandigarh state coordinator of Art of Living Paulomi Mukherjee said the programme would boost up the energy levels of juveniles and add more positivity in their lives.
While formally inaugurating the workshop, District and Sessions Judge Balbir Singh said yoga harmonised the mind with the body, which resulted in real quantum benefits. — TNS
