We all want good health. But sometimes it can be overwhelming navigating how to get there. More and more people are exploring alternative health approaches. And that too can be challenging to manage on your own. With stress, anxiety, depression, and illnesses such as diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol all on the rise, we need a proactive approach to better living.
I’m here to share a little about my journey to better health, and how I became inspired to help others on their journey to better health through ancient yogic and Ayurvedic practices.
My journey
As a younger woman, I was already drawn to the world of meditation and breathwork, as well as other healthy living practices. But it wasn’t until later in motherhood when I had a major health scare that I began urgently searching for answers. I needed something that could help me since traditional medicine had no treatment plan beyond surgery.
I lost my eyesight and was diagnosed with a rare degenerative retina disease. Naturally, I was super stressed and anxious. I was afraid I would never see my daughter smile at me again! Fortunately, I was introduced to Ayurveda, an ancient and holistic health system from India for optimal health.
I opted for surgery followed by Ayurvedic treatments to stop the degeneration and rebuild the damage that my eyes incurred during surgery. I traveled to India to check into an Ayurvedic hospital for eye treatments as well as other health-building treatments. In a relatively short period of time, my full vision returned better than ever! To this day, I continue to use these same Ayurvedic principles to protect my eyes and increase my overall health and well-being.
I am sure you can see how I could be inspired to continue learning and share with others all the benefits of Ayurveda. It became my mission to help and encourage anyone who was suffering from illness. It is possible to regain hope and overcome health challenges! I was inspired to see if others might also want to travel to India for their ailments.
The first group I took to India included some friends and new acquaintances. Everyone was excited about this adventure with better health possibilities and the chance to see the mystical and spiritual world of India!
Maria’s story
Maria, a schoolteacher, took a SKY Breath Meditation course to improve her stress levels. When I met Maria at a SKY follow-up, she had severe diabetes that was out of control. She had tried changing her diet and other methods to get her diabetes under control without success. I decided to share with her about Ayurveda. She was instantly intrigued, and wanted to join me the next time I went to India.
A few months later, we went to India along with nine others. Maria was able to see the Ayurvedic doctors at the hospital and receive the treatments that she needed. I am thrilled to share that Maria is now in control of her diabetes using everything she learned alongside her continued insulin treatments.
Alicia’s story
I met Alicia at a women's business group. We instantly connected, and she too took the SKY Breath Meditation course. One of her main health issues was digestive problems. Even her husband, a physician’s assistant in a hospital, was looking for a solution for Alicia. Of course, I shared about Ayurveda with her too. She was ready to try something new and excited about the opportunity to go to India.
The Ayurvedic doctors there prescribed a detox program for her. And just like Maria, Alicia found better health. Her digestive system was rebalanced and working properly once again. Her trip to India was a success!
Johane’s story
I met Johane through a friend. She was a nurse who suffered from glaucoma. She was looking for ways to handle stress and enjoy better health. I invited her to come along to India with Maria, Alicia, others and myself. She too was excited to visit India, and hoped to benefit from Ayurvedic eye treatments.
While in India, Johane also learned SKY Breath Meditation. SKY helped her manage her blood pressure and stress levels. And the Ayurvedic eye treatments were successful. Johane is now glaucoma free!
