Have you ever come face to face with the sudden possibility of dying? Kushal M. Choksi has. On 9/11, a day etched into all of our minds, Kushal came face to face with death. As a survivor, he found himself in a state in which he questioned the status quo and wondered about the  purpose of life as he knew it. The personal upheaval he experienced put him in such a state that he could not bear it, nor completely get rid of it.

On a Wing and a Prayer, Spirituality for the Reluctant, the Curious and the Seeker, is Kushal’s story of how being a survivor led him away from primarily  chasing material success to finding great wealth in spirituality. Read and you can join him on his journey to find answers to some of the biggest questions of life.

From Wall Street trader to modern-day yogi

Though many of us were witnesses to the 9/11 attacks watching on TV from the safety of our homes and offices, it is hard to imagine what it was like being there. Kushal brings us with him as he arrives for work on that beautiful sunny morning and to all that transpired as he fled the horrific scene that unfolded until he found his way home that evening. The unimaginable becomes seen through his eyes.

While the whole country was impacted in significant ways, those in close proximity, like Kushal, experienced a deeper and more profound effect on their lives. His story takes us from that eventful day to his exploration seeking answers to the meaning of life.

Through his fortunate brief encounter with spiritual teacher and founder of the Art of Living Foundation, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Kushal’s quest for answers fast-tracked him to take the SKY Breath Meditation course. The personal transformation that follows is awe-inspiring.

Read as his perspective shifts from being averse to gurus to living a life filled with deep contentment and appreciation for the wealth of wisdom shared by Gurudev. His doubts and struggles are transformed into revelations as he tries to make sense of mind-blowing metaphysical experiences on his path to wholeness.

This is a must-read for anyone who enjoys good story-telling or is interested in a path to becoming your best self!

I found myself not only enjoying how he told the story but also pondering my own journey through life. Whenever I felt a strong resonation, I would re-read and sit with his words in a deep and meditative way. His transformational journey also transforms the reader.
