Gurudev recently shared details about how astrology impacts our lives through vibrations of planets, stars, and constellations in space:

Astrology is a science. It's made up of nine planets, 12 constellations, and 27 stars.

When planets move through the constellations, they bring about changes. Nine planets times 12 constellations make 108 changes. 108 is a very important number.

Five limbs in the astrological calendar

Astrology has an almanac or calendar with five limbs. One limb is the moon cycle, from the new moon to the full moon, divided into 15 days. Halfway through, on the 8th day, is the new moon. After another seven days, there’s a full moon.

The days of the week are another limb, and then stars. The moon takes 27 days to go around all the stars, one month.

You calculate a leap year with the sun and have one extra day every four years. But when you calculate with the moon, there’s one extra leap month every four years.

Days and stars have an impact

astrology
Each one of us is born under a star. Each day of every month, the moon is in a particular star. The day of the moon, star, and week, together, make up yoga, or union, of a day and a star.

A particular day and star create a particular yoga. This happening creates a particular impact. 27 such yogas have results for the mind.

For example, if a star falls on a Tuesday, it has one impact. But if the same star falls on a Wednesday, it has a completely opposite impact.

Ancient people would avoid certain activities on unlucky days, stars, and timings.

Vibrations and predictions

Events are controlled by vibrations in the atmosphere, and you can control them once you know how.

In weather prediction, if it’s going to snow, you prepare by taking a jacket. Not all predictions come true. Sometimes you say it’s going to be cloudy, and there’s good sun. About 95% of predictions are right.

Then, there are impacts of planets, which move at their own speed. For instance, the moon impacts the mind. That’s why the mentally ill are called lunatics.

The moon has an impact on water, and 60% of our body is made of the water element. So when the moon goes up and down, the water element in your body also does. Mood swings happen fast because of the moon.

The moon moves in 2 and a half stars. For 2 and a half days, it’s in one constellation. So your moods and emotions change every 2 and a half days.

If you’re upset, just wait for 2 and a half days. After that much time, you’ll be different.

Periods of the planets

planets
To make one circle around the zodiac, Saturn takes 30 years. In this cycle, 2 and a half years impact every constellation. One feels like dropping everything and running away. Nothing is successful.

Divorce, joblessness, and other changes happen because that’s the time to transition to a more spiritual arena. When one wakes up and is centered, they can nullify old mood swings and failures. That’s why spiritual exercises like meditation bring enormous strength. If that’s there, then everything good happens.

If someone does extremely well, they’re in a Venus period. Even if a fool gets hit by a 20-year Venus period, their finances, power, position, and everything else go up.

According to which star you are born under, your period of a planet begins. The Sun is 6, the Moon is 10, and Mars is 7 years long. Jupiter is 16 and Saturn is 19. Mercury is 17, Ketu is 7, and Venus is 20.

The 7-year period person goes inward. He wants freedom, knowledge, research, and spiritual things. But when the Venus period starts, it’s all glory, music, pleasure, and everything.

120 years is the full human life. But not everybody has all periods. These are general outlines of astrology.
