Talking Peace To Ethiopian Lawmakers

ChurchH.H.Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar became the first spiritual leader to address the Ethiopian House of Peoples' Representatives. H.H.Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's two-day visit to Ethiopia was part of his global campaign for a "Stress-Free, Violence-Free World".

H.H.Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar called upon members of the Ethiopian Parliament to work toward a “stress-free violence-free Ethiopia”. The Ethiopian government also felicitated H.H.Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for his humanitarian work across the world.

H.H.GurudevSri Sri Ravi Shankar's tour included meetings with several national leaders including Girma Wolde Giorgis (President of Ethiopia), Shetaye Menale (Deputy Speaker of the House), Princess Mariam Senna Asfa Wossen (Founder and CEO of Addis Wubet), Degife Bulla (Speaker of the House of Federation), and Berhanu Deressa (Mayor of Addis Ababa).

He also met with the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council (represented by its vice-president Sheikh Elias Redman), and His Holiness Abune Paulos (Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church).
