The Sri Sri Rural Development Program (SSRDP) conducts Youth Vocational Training Programs that equip the youth with progressive personality traits, while also teaching them the necessary vocational skills. The youths receive a personality development training, which includes general discipline, Yoga, Pranayama, Team work, assignments and communication and presentation skills.
The primary aim of this training is to provide a detailed introduction to skills that are useful in both taking up a job and starting an entrepreneurial venture. The program also includes the regular practice of Pranayama, meditation and Satsang, celebration of all festivals together, get-togethers and the sharing of joys and sorrows. All this leads them to work in a harmonious and stress free environment.
As a part of its endeavor to promote economically self reliant communities, SSRDP started Women Empowerment programs for the rural women to provide them sustainable and alternate means of income. The rural women are trained in different skills associated with jute product making, eg. Stitching, cutting, embroidery, bead work etc. The variety of jute bags that are manufactured range from fancy ladies handbags to utility bags. It thus caters to all needs and occasions. Agarbatti rolling provides another convenient and simple means for the rural women to earn their livelihood.
Rural women trained at SSRDP have participated in stalls and fairs at a national level and are also well trained to handle bulk orders. Various corporate organizations have already supported us in this cause.
The SSRDP has units across 9 states in India: KARNATAKA, HIMACHAL PRADESH, DELHI, UTTAR PRADESH, BIHAR, MAHARASHTRA, WEST BENGAL, MADHYA PRADESH and CHANDIGARH
