The Art of Living Sydney organised a book fair on April 8 – 9, 2010 at Parramatta Town Hall in support of aboriginal children. This was in consultation with NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group. The volunteers in Sydney collected good quality books from various collection points in different companies/households and these books were sold at the Book Fair at Parramatta Town Hall. The money collected will be used towards education of Aboriginal Children.
Sue Matthews (Vice-President NSW AECG) spent a lot of time on the venue and helped Art of Living volunteers in organising the books. She herself bought many books and shared how impressed she was with the volunteers’ style of working and the successful outcome of the fair. Another attraction was Gavin Libotte’s mesmerising music played on an electric guitar. It helped draw lots of people to the venue. A beautiful banner hanging outside Parramatta Town hall encouraged people to ‘Buy a Book Educate a Child’. All the volunteers showed great enthusiasm throughout the book fair and worked on both days with tremendous commitment.
