Awards en Onderscheidingen: Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Eerbetoon Aan Wijsheid

De wijsheid en de visie van Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar zijn wereldwijd geëerd met vele prijzen en onderscheidingen. Zijn visie op het creëren van een stressvrije, geweldloze maatschappij door het opnieuw belichten van de menselijke waarden, wordt wereldwijd erkend en gewaardeerd.
Door de jaren heen is Sri Sri beloond met verschillende nationale en internationale onderscheidingen, waaronder zeer uitzonderlijke awards van regeringen en bijzondere organisaties.
Vijf universiteiten uit India en één uit Sri Lanka verleenden Sri Sri eredoctoraten ter erkenning van zijn dienstbaarheid aan de mensheid.
Terwijl verschillende steden in de Verenigde Staten en Canada tijdens zijn bezoeken een "Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar dag" instelden, verleenden sommige landen hem de titel van ‘illustere gast'. Washington DC eerde zijn bezoek aan de stad in 2007 door die week te benoemen als ‘de week van de Menselijke Waarden". Hij is ook ereburger in enkele Amerikaanse en Canadese steden. Toen hij in 2006 Jaipur, India, bezocht, overhandigde de burgemeester hem symbolisch de sleutel van de stad.
