Speed Up Millennium Development Goals – 2009

The Speed Up MDG campaign which began in July ’09, run across the world until October ’09. A joint initiative with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the campaign focused on three of the MDGs – Ensuring Environmental Sustainability, Eradication of Extreme Poverty and Hunger and Achieving Universal Primary Education. Impetus has been given to special projects under these three broad areas - free lunch programs, free education in tribal areas as well as the footwear projects (which will distribute footwear to underprivileged children who are deterred from attending school due to lack of footwear).
