BANGALORE: Two ex-Maoist leaders Shri. Ranjan Keshwar Yadav and Shri Kameshwara Bhaita will contest the up-coming Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand. This comes after His Holiness Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder, Art of Living and humanitarian had urged the Maoists to shun the bullet and take to the ballot.

After meeting the Maoists at Latehar Jail in February 2009,

Gurudev had said,“Maoist youth are good at heart. They (Maoists) are fighting against corruption and disparity. There is a need to bring them into the mainstream of society. The country needs their services. If these committed youth take to politics, they can use their energy to bring a change in society”.

Shri Ranjan will contest the elections as a CPI-ML candidate from the Chatra constituency, Jharkhand while Shri Kameshwara will go to polls from the Palamu constituency under the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha banner.
