Move ahead with dynamism, HH Sri Sri Ravi Shankar tell young leaders

BANGALORE: The founder of the Art of Living and renowned spiritual leader Poojya Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar today called upon youths to unite the country and move ahead with dynamism. Inaugurating the India Young Leaders’ Forum, a two-day conference organised by International Association for Human Values, at the Art of Living International Centre, Gurudev said,

“Youths need to develop a sense of ownership for the planet and protect it.”

He urged the participants to think ahead and work to counter the divisive forces in society. He called upon them to stem the degradation of values in society.

“There is an urgent need to inculcate the ideals of non-violence in society,” he said.

He said the conference will help in drawing up strategies and implementing them.

“The conference is an opportunity to harness the youth energy of the country,” he said.

Around 75 young achievers from various parts of India are attending the conference which will provide them a platform on which they can collaboratively and proactively generate solutions to some of the key issues affecting the country's development and business environment.

The issues discussed on the opening day included Building Long-Term National Security, Vishnu in the Boardroom; Indian Notion Of Leadership and Leveraging India’s Competitive Advantage. Among today’s speaker were Prof Brahma Chellaney, Professor for Strategic Studies at the Centre for Policy Research, Rajeev Srinivasan, a management consultant and visiting professor of Strategy and Innovation at IIM-Bangalore and renowned mythologist Dr Devdutt Pattanaik.

The last day of the conference will have session on Leveraging India’s Competitive Advantage, SEZs and Quality Rural Habitat Development and Caste and Reservations. The speakers will include Prof P.V.Indiresan, former Director of IIT-Chennai and Prof. R.Vaidyanathan, professor of finance and Control at IIM-Bangalore.
