This soothing yet refreshing smoothie bowl of kale, banana, pineapple and coconut water helps you revive and recharge yourself when you start to feel sluggish and cozy in the winter months.
The natural sugars in creamy banana and tangy pineapple replenish our strength and energy levels, while coconut restores potassium and balances your electrolyte levels.
Kale purifies our blood of any toxins from the often greasy and heavy food we tend to eat during winter-time. The creamy, moist and soft texture of banana soothes the stomach lining and intestinal irritation and helps with acid reflux, while pineapple is a natural digestive aid.
P.S: This is a great way to add kale into your diet if you’re having a hard time integrating this superfood in your diet. The natural sweetness of the banana and pineapple overpowers kale’s bitter-shock.
Ingredients :
1 banana
2 leaves of kale
1 cup pineapple
1 cup coconut water
Preparation:
- Dice the banana and pineapple pieces. You might not need to chop the kale if your blender is powerful enough.
- Toss the fruits in the blender with the coconut water
- Blend until smooth
- Pour it in a bowl and add some chunks of banana, mangoes, pineapple if you like. You may also top your smoothie with more fruits like blueberry, banana or some nuts or muesli. Besides fruits and nuts, I also like to add a few holy basil leaves to mine to give a refreshing yet grounding flavour.
- Slowly savour and enjoy!
