SINGAPORE - A non-governmental organisation is offering free stress-relief and trauma-relief workshops for foreign workers in Singapore, in light of the recent tensions in Little India.
The Celebrating Joy and Harmony Project, set up by Art of Living Centre Singapore, aims to foster cohesive communities in Singapore.
The workshops will feature activities such as relaxation and breathing techniques, simple yoga stretches, fun games and motivational talks.
The sessions are open to all nationalities and will be held across the island at various locations including, and not limited to, the Art of Living Centre at Race Course Road, dormitories and recreation centres.
The sessions can be customised based on the participants' background in terms of language, time and select activities.
"Since the Little India Riots, we have been called in by Westlite Dormitory and have conducted one hour session for an estimated 300 workers. The music and movement combined yoga and stretching to popular movie songs and some simple relaxation practices were taught for the general well being of the participants," the organisation said in a media release.
Art of Living Singapore said it invites organisations to get in touch with them or register their employees for the programme.
