- Warm up: Do some sun salutations or some gentle exercises to loosen up before formally going deeper into other Yoga Asanas.
- Drink plenty of water, continuously throughout the day.
- Respect the limits of your own body. Doas much as your body allows you to do. Push slightly beyond your limits butdo not force yourself into an asana. Know the difference between pain and a good stretch.

- Keep a gentle smile on your face while you do yoga. Notice your breath and facial expression; they both will change when you start to overexert yourself.
- Practice asanas with awareness, inwardness and with a feeling of honoring your body. This will bring an increased grace and beauty to your asanas. Yoga is not just a physical exercise, it is moving towards your very nature.
- Have patience and do not compare your yoga practice with others. Your flexibility, strength, and posture will improve over time.
- Be regular in your Yoga Practice. Once you have mastered a few basic asanas, learn more variations and new asanas. This will improve your overall practice.
