Nav Chetna Shivir (also called the Breath-Water-Sound workshop) seeks to address the challenges of economically and emotionally distressed communities by empowering them with the tools and techniques they need to fight these challenges. The first step towards empowerment is helping them with stress-elimination and building their inner confidence. This is where this workshop comes in.
Nav Chetna Shivir is The Art of Living’s primary outreach program. From the ghettos of Chicago to the inaccessible tribal regions of India, over 2 million people across the world have benefited from the workshop. It is instrumental in bringing people together, inspiring them to serve and to participate in the development of their communities.
Simple breathing, sound relaxation, and meditation techniques are taught to relax the individual. These techniques teach people how to handle negative emotions such as anger, regret, and depression. By dealing with these emotions, there is a sense of peace and relaxation. What follows is mental clarity, confidence and focus to find creative and innovative solutions for challenges faced in the rural areas – be it substance abuse, infrastructural problems or lack of essential amenities.
Heroes of our service initiatives are empowered by the time-tested breathing technique, the Sudarshan Kriya. Now, learn the tool from the comfort of your home.
When empowerment starts with individual transformation, it is sustainable. Empowered people naturally lead their communities towards progress. Over the years, we have seen entire communities undergoing metamorphosis and bearing testimony to the power of the Breath-Water-Sound workshop.
