Everything you need to know about the solar eclipse on April 20th

You’ve seen the memes floating around demanding that 2020 be canceled. It is no surprise why. Although this may feel like this year is going to compound more misery on the world, astrologers have reason to believe otherwise.

A full solar eclipse will occur on June 10. Also known as the Chudamani (jewel-studded headdress) Grahan, it will bring some good, and some cautionary times.

Here’s everything you need to know about this eclipse:

The eclipse will start around 01:42 PM in India and last till 06:41 PM on Thursday.
The sutak, or the transition period of the eclipse, will start 12 hours before the start of the eclipse.
If possible, avoid taking any food after 10:30 PM IST on June 09.
It is also advisable to get up early and take a bath before the eclipse starts.

Better times after the eclipse

One may feel that this eclipse could enhance the bad effects of the Covid-19 pandemic but astrologers have opined otherwise.

The upcoming eclipse falls in the Mercury zodiac in the Mrigasira Nakshatra, which is based on the air element. This signifies that the impact of the zodiac will be seen in the environment. The astrologers have said that this is a good sign. The earlier eclipse (on December 26, 2019) started the Covid-19 period, this eclipse is coming to end the pandemic. This eclipse is seen as a refresher of the sun element and hence seen as a purifier.

The good thing about this eclipse is that it is happening on Sunday, the day of the sun. The sun element is strong which means any adverse consequences faced could be recovered quickly.

Apt time for a new beginning

Renowned astrologers often say that eclipses are not to be feared. As these are elliptical events and such happenings at a cosmic scale make us more aware of the vastness of life. Measures

Praying to Lord Hanuman, chanting Hanuman Chalisa, praying to Lord Subramanian Swamy, and chanting the Sunderkand are good measures that you can try to dispel the slight negative effects.

Taurus

Venus is the lord of the Taurus zodiac and this eclipse is going to affect the second house of this zodiac. The second house affects our family, wealth, food, and sustenance.

Impact

When an eclipse falls in the second house, you may face financial issues.
As the second house is symbolized by family, there could be increased aggression and fighting amongst family members during the coming time.
The eclipse will increase the chances of getting profits from a property deal. Selling some property of yours will fetch you good money during the coming time.
Taurians should take care of their food intake for the next few months.

Measures

Praying to your Guru or Mahalakshmi could be beneficial during and after the eclipse.
Donating some food, and becoming aware of your speech will be good for you in the coming months.
Praying to the Mother Divine, through the Lalita Sahasranam, Devi Kavacham, or any other chant for the goddess would be beneficial.
If you don’t chant them, then listening to any of these for the next fifteen days after the eclipse will also rid any negativity that arises due to the solar eclipse.

For Geminis, this eclipse is occurring in its own lagna (house combination).

There could be confusion in some aspects of your life in the coming period. When an eclipse occurs on the lunar house, then confusion and dejection are often seen as side effects.

Cancer

There could be some effects of the eclipse on the Cancerians.

There are chances of financial failures and high-speed accidents. It’s advisable to avoid striking big business deals for the next three months and drive carefully.
For the upcoming period post the eclipse, avoid making new friends, (professional or personal)
Cancerians need to take special care of their health during the coming time.
The marital relation of Cancerians could be affected slightly so take special care during the upcoming time.
You may also feel lethargic and devoid of energy during the coming time. You will protect yourself and your loved ones by becoming aware of this trait.
People living abroad may face some adverse effects as the eclipse is in the twelfth house.

Measures

Since this house is signified by charity, making donations or giving away footwear will be a good remedy for the coming time.

Leo

Leo is the zodiac of the sun and since this is a solar eclipse, this is a good omen. The eclipse is going to take place in the eleventh house for Leos and this house is associated with the fulfillment of desires.

Librans will benefit by focusing more on cultural activities during this time.

Scorpio

Usually, Scorpio is a friendly zodiac to the sun. However, since the eclipse is happening in the eighth house, the upcoming period is not a good one.

This eclipse will fall in your seventh house which is associated with partnerships.

Capricorn

This eclipse and the coming period is very good for Capricorns.

Impact

There are increased chances of getting a new job and acquiring a new vehicle.
Clear any old debts or quarrels with family/ friends.
Be in a proactive state of mind for the next few months.
There may be some problems experienced in the lower abdomen, lungs, and vocal cords. Being aware of these will prevent any slight health issues that come after the eclipse.

Measures

Avoid taking any new loans for the next six months. Although this is a good time, there will be slight confusion after the eclipse, which may make it difficult to get the right terms and conditions.
Practicing celibacy for the next six months could make this good time even better.

Aquarius

This eclipse is going to fall in the fifth house for Aquarians. This house is denoted by mantra, intellect, and progeny.

Impact

This is not a good time for your spouse and children.
This is a good time to master a mantra. However, avoid learning anything new in the upcoming months.
You may feel like indulging in negative practices. Do try to avoid these tendencies.

Measures

If you have been practicing a mantra for some time, then practicing that mantra during the time of the eclipse will bring good fruits.

Pisces

This eclipse is going to fall in the fourth house for Pisceans.

Impact

You need to take special care of your mother’s health during this time.
You may feel that your mind is conflicted after the eclipse and there is a fall in your energy and happiness levels.
You may face some conflict with your mother so make sure that you are aware that these are just after-effects of the eclipse.
You may also face some problems at the workplace so be extra aware in your workplace.

Measures

Doing Sudarshan Kriya or the Online Breath and Meditation workshop is a good remedy for this eclipse.
Listening to music every day and cooking are also good remedies.
If you have a shiva linga in your house then offer water on the shiva linga daily.
Avoid purchasing any property or large vehicle till April 2021.
Do make an effort to spend as much time as possible with your family during the upcoming time.
