More often than not, people are attracted towards the manner in which a person conducts himself. And when everyone else chase behind worldly commodities for personal gain, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is one rare personality who works tirelessly to ensure the well-being of every soul. The thought of addressing the concerns of humanity itself distinguishes him from the rest of the world. Be it Tsunami playing havoc with life and property, Gurudev marks his presence there; be it war, child abuse, poverty, destitution, spiritual awakening, mental and physical health, women’s degradation or anything else, still, he will be prepared to extend his untiring service to the betterment of humanity.
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is equally a veteran in sharing the joy with those who are joyful. I remember St. Paul’s words: “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn” (Rom: 12/15).
The thinking pattern of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is always noble, spiritual and far seeing. One like that of an eagle; although it soars high up in the blue sky, the movement of the wriggling worm on the ground does not go unnoticed.
Gurudev’s desire is that humanity should rise ‘above the daily trifles.’ In order to achieve that serenity, he advocates ‘yoga’ and meditation. He is the type of a person who could walk with the beggar as well as with the king; dine with the foe as well as enjoy with a friend. Such is the acceptance of all inclusive. He can sit in a cell with the prisoner and also the UNO Assembly, delivering thoughts provoking points to the learned, inducing them to think how well humanity could be served.
To such a one who wishes, ‘Om Shanthi’‘sabbe Sattha Bhavanthu Sukhi Tattha’ to the whole humanity and the universe, to you Guruji, your devotees sing Happy Birthday.
