Jail inmates take meditation
lessons

Art of Living conducted "Meditate India", a nationwide meditation campaign on Sunday at Model Jail and Snehalaya. Chandigarh chapter of Art of Living celebrated its founder, H H Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar's birthday by organizing many events across the city.

More than 500 inmates along with staff of Model Jail, Chandigarh, experienced the profound effects of deep meditation. The teachers of art of living,Dr. Naveen Kataria and Manisha Gupta conducting the guided meditation, explained the overall healing effects of meditation on the body, mind and spirit to the prisoners. The AIG-cum-supritendent (prisons), Balbir Singh Dhol said the organization was working well towards achieving its founder's vision of creating "a stress-free mind and violence-free society" throughout the world. The prisoners, who shared their experiences afterwards, said they felt happier, more energized and relaxed.

Also a special meditation for 250 children of Snehalaya was organized. The meditation camp was held for children aged between 7 to 18. Free meditation camps were also conducted at various Art of Living centres, residential localities, corporate houses, schools and colleges all over the city.
