Make your own mouth-watering modaks this Ganesh Chaturthi

What is Ganesha festival without all the fun, the adorable idols, delicious prasad and mesmerizing decor? While all this is an unmissable part of this much-awaited festival, one thing that stands out in the checklist is modaks! Modaks have always had a special place in every Indian’s heart. Ganapati Bappa loves his modaks and so do we. This Ganesh Chaturthi, bite into a nutritious yet tasty version of Lord Ganesha’s favorite sweet. We have curated this festive special Nutty Healthy Modak recipe only for you. In case of lack of time and busy schedule, you can quickly prepare them for the guests, loved ones and relish the season’s specialty with joy! 

What’s so good about these modaks?

  • Nutritious and sugar-free
  • They still taste really good and can stand in for dessert
  • No-bake
  • Great for expecting and lactating mothers
  • Dates have a high content of disease-fighting antioxidants  
  • Nuts have a good amount of Omega-3 fatty acids 
  • Poppy seeds fight insomnia, improves bone strength and digestion

Ingredients:

Soaked Dates: 3/4 cup
Soaked Cashew: 3/4 cup
Almonds: 1/2 cup
Pistachios: 1/4 cup
Ghee: 3 tsp
Poppy seeds: 1/2 cup

Do It Yourself:

1. Blend  soaked dates, soaked cashews, almonds and pistachios and make a coarse paste.

2. Meanwhile, heat ghee in a pan. Once heated, saute the nuts paste for 2 mins in it

3. Take the modak mould and grease it with clarified butter.

4. Put the sauted nuts filling, to get the desired modak shape. After this, put them in plate.

5. Once all the modaks are ready, roll the modaks in poppy seeds and they are ready to serve.
