Reasons for Overtiredness/Fatigue

  • Unpreparedness

Technology has taken more from us than what it has given. Most of us stay stuck in the digital world without paying heed to our responsibilities. We feel like there is a lot to be done but we actually do not do it. This behavior of unpreparedness only creates worry, stress, and fatigue. There is a need to sort out our schedules and create an action plan.

  • Health Concerns

There are many medical conditions like diabetes, arthritis, or anemia that cause fatigue and low energy levels. It’s important to trace if you have a major health concern, and cure it to overcome tiredness.

  • Lifestyle choices

Our lifestyle choices become one of the major factors of stress, anxiety, and fatigue. The food that we consume (junk, adulterated) often causes sleep and eating disorders while ridding us of nutrition. Caffeine and unnecessary addiction (pain killers, sleeping pills, drugs, alcohol) lead to restlessness thereby causing fatigue.

“It is when you feel very tired that you feel ‘Oh, It is all so complicated. Let me get away from it all.’ When you are bubbling with energy, then you do not feel this way. You feel tired from the complications when you lack energy.”

10 Smart Ways to Overcome Tiredness

You can answer the question, “Why am I so tired?” by practicing efficient ways to bring back discipline in your life and being mindful of what you intake.

Focus On Thoughts

Fatigue is generated more prominently by the thoughts of hard work than the actual work. Hence it is important to mentally prepare yourself for your daily accomplishments. Talk to yourself about what you want to get done within the day and how you will do it without burning out. Positive thoughts propel self-direction and guide you to achieve your targets and refuel with positive energy.

“More tiring than the work itself is the memory of hard work, just thinking you have worked hard interferes with the quality of rest. Some people take pride in working hard without any results. And others crave a long rest without knowing that true rest is in non-doership. Thinking you need rest makes you restless. Thinking you have to work hard makes you tired. Thinking you have worked hard brings self-pity.”

~Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

exercise & running

Train Physically

Muscles are like machine parts that need frequent exercise. Without physical activities, our body cannot cope with the magnitude of stress from work and other responsibilities. Resort to activities like running, swimming, yoga, brisk walking, etc to relax your muscles and give them the energy they need for the daily drill.

Check Your Diet

Most of us commit the mistake of eating wrong and eating more without even realizing it. Understand your body and take the food that your body demands. Consume a mix of fruits and vegetables to overcome tiredness and avoid no meals, especially breakfast. Drink a minimum of 2-3 liters of water a day to stay hydrated and avoid excess tea/coffee. Iron-rich supplements also help restore the body’s nutrition and fight fatigue.

Get Enough Rest

Rest a minimum of 6 hours a night and get rid of problems like stress and fatigue. Sleep gives a break to the overworked muscles and allows them to relax while clearing up the mind of any worries. Sleep also helps regulate the mood and improves our digestion.

Improve the Immune System

Most of the diseases that result in fatigue start because of a weaker immunity system. Improve your immunity with a holistic approach to life. Adapt to a healthier lifestyle and include physical activities in your daily routine like sports, yoga, Zumba, etc. Eat food that is proven to provide strength, improve immunity and overcome tiredness.

Do What You Like

Often unnoticed, people tend to take up any vocation that gives them financial independence and takes their minds off challenges. But what’s really essential is to love what you do and vice versa. When you are passionate about your work, it rarely causes stress or leads to burnout. So, look into what interests you and work smartly by giving proper rest to your body and mind.

Get Creative

Fatigue can also result from boredom or lack of creativity at work. Assess your creativity side and implement it in your lifestyle. Look what can be done differently and have fun doing so. It might enhance your productivity, and help others while helping you overcome tiredness.

Get Assistance

Although fatigue is commonly experienced, sometimes the primary reason is not known to the person dealing with it. It’s best to open up and get assistance from someone who could help. Talking to friends, counselors or therapists could help get to the core of the problem and work on solutions.

Say No to Addictions

Regular consumption of alcohol, drugs, or even aerated drinks can stir the body’s nutrient balance and lead to issues like anxiety, fatigue, and insomnia. You must say no to these addictions and if it’s hard to let go of them, talk to a friend or enroll in a program that helps you overcome the addiction.

Your energy levels are decided by how well you manage your body routine by listening to its demands.
