I had been practicing Sudarshan Kriya (SK) for quite some time when I heard Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar referring to Sahaj Samadhi Meditation (SSM) as the simple way to go into deep meditation and unlock the intuitive abilities in you.
Sahaj Meditation opens a new dimension in life
Honestly, sometimes due to boredom, I felt like skipping some parts of Sudarshan Kriya, but then the first session of Sahaj Meditation opened up a new dimension in my experiences. Gurudev has often exemplified that just like brushing our teeth needs to be done daily for dental hygiene, Sudarshan Kriya is to be practiced everyday for our mental hygiene.
Benefits of Sudarshan Kriya for me
I was enjoying the benefits of Sudarshan Kriya - my breathlessness went away, my stress to live up to others' expectations diminished and I found my life’s purpose. With the practice of Sahaj, the regularity in Sudarshan Kriya improved as I felt a lot more complete with the combo of SK and SSM!
Combo pack of Sudarshan Kriya and Sahaj Meditation
Meditation is the skill to move the mind from a state of chaos to calm, from restlessness to deep restfulness, from pieces to peace. In this process, the ancient sounds called the Sahaj mantra charged by the Guru enable the mind to effortlessly go deep into silence.
In our daily lives, our mind gathers a lot of impressions, anxieties and tension. These prevent us from being happy and block our intuition. These impressions strain the mind and cause psychosomatic (stress-related) problems. Meditation is the art of releasing yourself from unwanted and unhealthy impressions, lowering stress and anxiety, and tapping into the source of intuition.
Sahaj multiplies benefits of Sudarshan Kriya
Practicing Sudarshan Kriya is like washing the mind, the way we clean the mirror. Why do we clean the mirror? So that the reflection is clear and we can have a true picture of ourselves. With SK, we seek to clear negative thoughts, emotions and impressions, and experience our true Self. One of the purposes of Sudarshan Kriya is to go into deep meditation. When you sit for Sahaj Samadhi Meditation, it completes the process. Where Sudarshan Kriya helps you to be toxin-free and calm, Sahaj meditation after Sudarshan Kriya enhances your experience and benefits (physical, mental, physiological, spiritual, social), as meditation becomes deeper and rest happens spontaneously.
Sahaj maintains the Sattvic rise for a longer time
Meditation is effortlessly easy with the Sattvic body constitution. With SSM after SK, Sattva is on the rise and each action falls into place. When you rise in Sattva, life becomes fun to live and celebrate. The results are beyond your expectations. Success becomes the way of your life.
Sahaj helps you to live life more in the present moment
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar says, “If you do Sudarshan Kriya, it releases all the past impressions and makes you fresh and lively.” Doing Sahaj Meditation after SK helps you settle the release of emotions due to past impressions. You come to the present moment and slip into a meditative state of mind.
