Gurudev’s precious advise on the importance of Seva / Service
To improve the quality of your seva, regardless of where you start, you must move up to higher levels of seva.
1. DO SERVICE AS MUCH AS YOU ARE CAPABLE OF. PUT ALL YOUR ENERGY INTO IT. WHATEVER SERVICE YOU DO WITHIN YOUR CAPABILITIES WILL BEAR GOOD RESULTS. THE FEELING, THE INTENTION BEHIND EVERY SEVA IS IMPORTANT.
2. You have come to this world, to do something beneficial for everybody. Do not stay entangled in thinking only what you will get. There is nothing for you to take away from this world. You have come to give.
3. Pleasure simply brings more craving. But often one looks for contentment through pleasure. True contentment can only come through service.
4. Seva means to do something for someone else without expecting anything in return. You should do seva in whatever way you can. But it does not mean that you do seva by making your family members uncomfortable or going against their wishes. Do your seva and also manage your family well.
5. When you do seva without complaining and there is no complaint after doing seva then you will definitely get the fruit of your seva.
6. Whatever is necessary to be done in the world, just do it. What time and place requires you to do, do it. That is Seva.
7. If you are doing seva you will have no dearth. Whatever is needed will come to you when you need it.
8. When you bring some relief or freedom to someone through seva (service), good vibrations and blessings come to you. Seva brings merit; merit allows you to go deep in meditation; meditation brings back your smile.
9. Pleasure simply brings more craving. But often one looks for contentment through pleasure. True contentment can only come through service.
10. Increase Prana (subtle Life Force) levels to move away from negativity. Prana increases with Meditation, Satsang (Company of the Truth) & Seva (Service).
